Teachers Day Concert

Well for this year, Teachers' day was celebrated in a different aspect, where we had a story line. So the whole event went like a story, where there were students acting like - teacher, students etc.. And this year's performances were all different from every year's performances, as there were performers such as beat boxing, NCC drill performance, PTA's belly dancing etc.. In conclusion, this year's event was one of everyone's favourite event. :)

Pupil Development Teachers Day Video Montage

Teachers’ Day Appreciation Video

In this program, the Pupil Development(PD) Department members will write up a Teachers’ Day message and film many students in the school to say a few words or phrases from the message we wrote to the teachers, we will then compile and edit the video then show it to the school during Teachers’ Day.
By displaying this video, we hope that all students will start to appreciate their teachers more for their dedication, commitment and hardwork.
PD members have worked very hard in this program and had lots of fun as well, it also gave us the chance to bond as a department.
The result of all the efforts paid off and was very satisfying especially when everyone enjoyed the video.

Pupil Welfare Fund Raising

Teachers' Day Writeup

Being in the Pupil Welfare Department, we had to raise funds for the Sec. 2 Service Learning Trip. In order to do this, we made flower bouquets for every class to carry out a bidding process starting from $5. The preparations for this activity is very long and tedious. 1 and a half weeks prior to the event, we already started cutting the hands (flower petals) and the straws (stalks). We stuck double-sided tape to hands and stuck both the straw and the hand together to make a flower. After making sufficient flowers, we would make a bouquet by placing the flowers in a wrapped fruit juice box and use different coloured wrapping papers on the outside to make it look presentable. From this event, we made a total of $676.30 and we want to thank everyone for their efforts and contributions in making this event fruitful. :)

A few Learning Points are:
-Have confidence when standing in front of a crowd
- Have perseverance to complete a task
- Do your best in everything

Student Council Farewell

On the 13th June, the Councillors all came together to have their last night together. The Secondary 4&5s had to step down, and it's time for the Secondary 3 to step up.
Before the camp, the upcoming Executive Committee 2012, organized and planned for it. During the camp, the councillors all managed to bond together. The farewell ceremony at night was the main highlight of the camp. The different departments had to come together to perform and show their appreciation to their beloved seniors.

To all seniors,
Thanks for serving Student Council all these while and guiding us every step of our way. Big, or, small, you have contributed to Student Council and the school. We wish you all the best for your national examinations! :)

Outward Bound Singapore

On June 4th-8th, ten Secondary 3 Councillors took part in the five-day physically and mentally demanding camp, Outward Bound Singapore.
The Councillors were all splitted up into different groups.
Through this camp, the councillors realized that they have to step out of their comfort zones, and give themselves a try. It was also a good platform for them to make new friends and learn about how other schools' manage as Student Leaders. The camp also taught the councillors new skills.
This camp sure did improve the potential of the councillors and their experience is one they would never forget! :)

Blackmore Leadership Camp

On the 28 May to 30 May, there was a Blackmore Leadership Camp held in FairField Methodist.
A few of the Secondary 3 Councillors attended this camp.
Through this camp, they participated in activities and conferences that taught them the values of Leadership.

International Friendship Day

International Friendship Day (1T1 Mentoring)

For this program, The Pupil Development members lead a group of 1T1 students in filming of a video and mentoring them in the process. In the video, the 1T1 students will be acting and PD will direct, film and guide them on what to do. On the day when the video was shown, the councilors did a presentation of the video to each class during Form Teacher Period and asked a few questions about the video. Through the making and final product of the International Friendship Day Video, we hope that both the school and 1T1 students learn the importance of being friendly to everyone regardless of their race, language or religion, they will also learn values such as Respect, Harmony and Hard work. In the end, it was all a success! :)

Chinese New Year 2012

During Chinese New Year, 2012, Student Council were in charge of the CNY game. The school had to use oranges' skin to help craft out the words. This was a creative game. The councilors helped out as the emcees, game in-charge and are even the ones who gave out oranges!
Student Council is honored to help out in Chinese New Year 2012.
